SustainabilitySocial Programs
Major developments can be catalysts for prosperity, granted that the potential for the sustainable development of surrounding areas is promoted and the possible negative impacts mitigated.

Principles:
- In line with the Client's objectives, all developments must have social actions that are appropriate for their sizes, deadlines and other factors, such as the region, vocations and opportunities.
- The central focus must be People, Communities and Organizations from the regions located near the developments. Once their needs have been met, and once they are prepared and motivated by the opportunities for work and income and the consequent improvement to their quality of life, these people, communities and organizations will promote the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources.
- Those Responsible for the Developments must put this commitment into practice, involving the Client, partners and other regional actors.
- The processes of consultation, negotiation and participation associated with the social programs, together with the agreements and resolutions derived from the same, must be adequately documented, including a detailed record of the participating organizations and individuals.
- In this Guideline, the Involuntary Relocation of People, treaties with Indigenous Populations and Protection of Cultural Properties are still the object of specific orientations.
The scale of the E&C business operations, both in terms of the geographic variety as well as the diversity of the cultures and business models, demands the fulfillment of international performance standards.
In addition to the social work developed directly by actions in the E&C area, there are also the operations that take place through investments in the Odebrecht Foundation. The entity helps train youth in Bahia’s poorer Southern Lowlands region and heads the Pratigi Environmental Protection Area Mosaic Integrated and Sustainable Development Model.
Members also do their part by undertaking high quality, productive work that meets legal requirements, avoiding waste and respecting the environment.
Many also contribute by directing a portion of their Income Tax to the Tribute to the Future Program.
