Odebrecht’s History in the Country:

In 1991, Construtora Norberto Odebrecht acquired the English company SLP Engineering and began operating in the country. Among the projects undertaken in England, one of the most important is the development of the MacCulloch oil field in the North Sea. In August 2007, the field reached the record of 100 million barrels of oil produced and joined the history of successes in the global oil industry. The achieved results led to the renewal of the contract for an additional five years (until 2012). Estimates indicate that MacCulloch’s production will reach 135 million barrels of oil.

The construction company has also completed dozens of jackets and rigs for the global oil industry and was responsible for the North Sea Producer in Aberdeen. Contracted by Conoco UK and Lasmo, the company converted the Dagmar Maersk oil tanker into a FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading System) to operate in the MacCulloch field. Currently, Odebrecht Oil & Gas is responsible for the operation in England.
