Odebrecht has been building industrial and petrochemical units both in Brazil and abroad for important Clients, such as Petrobras, for more than two decades. Over the years, it has polished its operating model, becoming qualified to implement the complete cycle of large-scale developments.

The expertise of Odebrecht Engenharia Industrial – a company created in 2009 – is proven by the dozens of public and private projects headed by Construtora Norberto Odebrecht (CNO) for Clients that demand solutions in a range of different segments.

The new company added CNO’s important achievements to its portfolio and also erected its own developments. The following are worthy of mention:

• Construction of the Braskem Polypropylene Plant unit in Paulínia (SP), the first greenfield project of the leading company in the Chemical and Petrochemical business at the Odebrecht Organization;
• Installation of the Repar Diesel Hydrodesulphurization Unit (HDSU) in Araucária (PR) and the Revap Propane Unit in São José dos Campos (SP) for Petrobras;
• Installation of the Braskem Green Ethane Unit in Triunfo (RS);
• Construction of the Petrobras PRA1, P-59 and P-60 rigs;
• Construction of different stretches of gas pipelines in Argentina;
• Construction work for the Continuous Catalytic Reformer (CCR) Center Unit at the La Plata refinery for YPF in Argentina.
• Assembly of the recovery boilers for the Clients Celulosa Arauco and Florestal y Industrial Santa Fé in Chile;
• Construction of the Acepar Steel Mill in Villa Hayes, Paraguay.

Odebrecht has built and assembled 328,400 tons of offshore and onshore structures and over 2,600 km of gas pipelines and oil pipelines. In addition to being present in different Brazilian states, it also operates in the following countries: Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, México, Paraguay, Uruguay and the United States.

Defense and Technology

In 2011, Engenharia Industrial earned a new company, Odebrecht Defesa e Tecnologia, whose area of operation is considered strategic for the countries’ national and public security.

Benefiting from the Organization’s vast experience in highly complex environments, as well as alliances with companies that are recognized in the sector, the new company has been responsible for innovative solutions equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

The construction of naval bases, nuclear submarines and aerospace equipment for Brazil’s Armed Forces and those of other nations are examples of some of the products and services found in its portfolio.
