Latin America and Angola, both strategic regions of operation for Odebrecht, received the Organization’s first projects at the start of its internationalization process. In 1979, Odebrecht arrived to Peru and Chile. In 1984, the company won its first project in Angola.

Today, Odebrecht América Latina e Angola is present in the following countries: Angola, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Dominican Republic.

Upon arriving to these markets, the Organization found the need to train new professionals who were committed to the principles and values of the Odebrecht Entrepreneurial Technology (TEO). The challenge proved to be benefit for the company, since it allowed it to diversify its talents and maintain the quality standard of the services provided on a global level.

Angola

Corporate action marked by social responsibility. This is the philosophy that has defined the partnership between Odebrecht and Angola for the past 26 years. Trust in the country, its people and its future has led Odebrecht to invest and participate in projects that open new perspectives for this nation.

Odebrecht has been present in Angola since 1984, the year in which it began constructing the Capanda Hydroelectric Power Plant. It has assumed an active role in the country's reconstruction, undertaking infrastructure projects and making investments in projects designed to improve the living conditions of millions of Angolans, such as the Luanda Expressways Revitalization Project.

The company also helps generate wealth, job opportunities and taxes and trains people for the job market. Angola is currently home to Odebrecht América Latina and Angola’s largest number of contracts. These include:
